Illegal alien charged after alleged assault on ICE agents in North Carolina

An individual described as an illegal alien has been arrested and charged with forcibly assaulting and impeding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Morrisville, North Carolina. The arrest followed an incident in which the suspect, Milton Ermilo Arreaga Roblero, 23, allegedly used his vehicle to ram into several ICE vehicles and nearly struck an agent during a law enforcement operation.

U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle stated, “Assaulting a federal officer is an attack on the rule of law itself. When someone allegedly drives a vehicle to threaten or endanger ICE agents, we treat it with the utmost seriousness. We have zero tolerance for conduct that puts our officers or the public at risk, and this office will take every lawful step to protect our families, officers, and communities.”

James C. Barnacle Jr., Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in North Carolina, added, “When a federal agent is attempting to make a lawful arrest, there is no excuse to respond with violence. The FBI will continue to work alongside our law enforcement partners to support illegal immigrant enforcement operations.”

According to the criminal complaint, Roblero initially stopped his vehicle when approached by ICE agents but then reversed into one agent’s car before driving into four different ICE vehicles. One agent had to move quickly out of the way to avoid being hit. The complaint further alleges that Roblero drove over a curb and through landscaping before colliding with another civilian’s car.

Roblero faces charges of assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers and could receive up to twenty years in prison if convicted. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ashley Foxx is prosecuting the case, while the Federal Bureau of Investigation leads the investigation. Authorities note that a criminal complaint is only an accusation; Roblero is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

This prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America, a national initiative aimed at addressing illegal immigration and targeting transnational criminal organizations.
