The United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina announced on Apr. 29 that all divisions will be closed on several dates in late 2025 and early 2026 due to holidays.

The announcement lists Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s as the affected holidays. This information is important for individuals with business before the court so they can plan accordingly and avoid scheduling conflicts during these periods.

According to the statement, the court will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28. For Christmas, closures will take place from Wednesday, December 24 through Friday, December 25. The court will also be closed on Thursday, January 1 for New Year’s Day.

These closures apply to all divisions of the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. Individuals are encouraged to take note of these dates when preparing filings or scheduling hearings around these times.

Looking ahead, those who need access to court services are advised to make arrangements in advance or wait until after these scheduled closures.
